It's like Kentucky in California, ... It has potential to be a great horse ranch, to produce great runners.

This is still Kentucky basketball. Not in the sense we're expected to win, but we have great tradition and we have great players still here. We can go 11 players deep and on any given night, any player can step up and produce. That makes us much more dangerous.

We went for a late night walk around the grounds and lake; it was so tranquil and silent, ... The inn itself is a privilege to stay in. Each room is uniquely decorated and named after a person of great inspiration to George. There is a great stone fireplace were you can sit up late and drink and talk. But my favorite part of the whole Ranch has to be the atmosphere. Everyone you meet is happy to be there, and the views are amazing. The Ranch is possibly one of the most serene, beautiful places I've ever been to. Thousands of acres of rolling grass hills, forest, lakes and wildlife. Then you have these amazing state-of-the-art buildings. Big Rock Ranch is also a stunning building like an enormous Japanese ski lodge. What a place to work; the toy-licensing department is where I can see my self one day!

People were spoiled by all the great horses in the '70s, ... The fact is, racing just got a bunch of great horses in a short time. It was 25 years between Citation (1948) and Secretariat. [The current dry spell has] been a little longer than that. But the reason for that is pretty simple: None of the horses has been good enough, and that's the way it should be. It should take a great horse to win the Triple Crown. I don't want to see a mediocre horse get lucky and win it. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.

If we would build a bigger building, we would get more people, and I think we would sell it out, even if it was 50,000. We have a great audience, we have a great product and we have a great tradition here at Kentucky.

He's doing very, very well. Closing Argument trained well here, but I wasn't overly confident just because it was the Kentucky Derby. It was an imposing race. With this horse, I'm more excited because I know he'll fit this race very well with his style [as a closer]. And he's doing great.

I think it will suit this horse. I want to make sure if we get to Kentucky we have a good chance. I don't want to go there and (just) say, 'Well, we've got an entry in the Kentucky Derby.' That's no fun.

We've had ups and downs, but tomorrow is a chance, a great opportunity for us. At Kentucky, it's about championships. It'd be great to win and great to get to the Sweet 16, but we've got a lot more games to play. The good thing about downs is that the ups are coming.

I stopped (attending) IMG because it was overwhelming and I wanted to concentrate on academics more. Playing for Lakewood Ranch was one of the best experiences I've ever had. We had a great team and a great coach and went to the region semifinal.
