What they've done is take the other younger kids under their wings and give them leadership. We're not the most athletic team, but something's working for us.

Adam and Lander are both successful because of way they go about it. They have played for years and don't take any shortcuts. They do it all right ? from fitness to taking the younger kids under their wings. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. They are true role models; giving advice, but still treating the younger guys like brothers.

We are excited to add someone of Willie's caliber and experience to our team. He will provide us leadership on defense and with our younger players. I look forward to working with him again.

I look at the role models I had when I was a sophomore and what a great year that was for me. Those guys always watched out for me and I was constantly looking to them for leadership. Now, it's up to me to give that same experience to the younger kids. I have to treat them with respect and let them know how important wrestling is going to be to them – not just in high school – but for the rest of their life.

I'm very happy with the way a lot of the younger kids have stepped up to this point. Nick Carey, Brendan O'Brien, Ryan Shields, Ryan Schmid, Rob Mills ? quite a lot of kids who were waiting in the wings have gotten stronger. We're asking them for a lot more swims this year. So far, they've responded. We know a lot of our tougher meets are ahead of us.

We lose a great player in Andy, but we have a talented and athletic group of kids coming back. Our team will be balanced next year and we will look for leadership out of our four returning starters in Adam, Chandler, Chad and Will.

There are two things parents should give their children: roots and wings. Roots to give them bearing and a sense of belonging, but also wings to help free them from constraints and prejudices and give them other ways to travel (or rather, to fly).

They rebound pretty well offensively. They have some athletic players and are playing better. They're athletic at the wings and like to run.

I want him to understand he's just part of this team, ... For most kids coming out of high school, they were the team. Most of these kids think leadership is everyone serving them. Leadership is you serving everybody. So we're putting him in with older guys who can teach him things.

All six seniors collectively were just unbelievable when it came to leadership roles on and off the court. The younger players definitely looked to feed of their leadership. ... I think that's the biggest thing. They were the backbone of the team.

Todd is known as a very good guy in the locker room and is well known for working with younger players. He has a chance to become one of the veteran leaders of this team and we're going to give him that opportunity.

It's just an honor to be involved with the younger generations. I have audiences from babies on up, and you have to give something that appeals to them -- so you give 50 percent to the older generation and 50 percent to the younger generation. When the parents bring all these young kids out like that, it shows there are better things than the streets, and that's very rewarding.

A lot of lower-seeded teams have senior leadership, and they can be really tough in the pressure situations you get in the NCAA Tournament. At the end of the day, experience can carry you over the sheer athletic ability of younger players.

Just a win feels great. We played a quality second-place team. This is the second second-place team we beat this year. Kaukauna was the other. The 400 wins just mean that I have had many hard working kids. I like to think that our kids are more of a blue-collar type. They may not be the best basketball players, but they give you 100 percent.

We have a very athletic team and I feel like athletic teams give Duke problems.
