I think Mike was looking to make a statement today, maybe get a little redemption. This course has treated him well and he knew he could shoot a low score here, even after the start he had.

I knew I wanted to take the last shot. I never doubted that it would go in. When I started to penetrate, there were nine seconds left, so I knew I had to make a decision quickly. I didn't want to shoot too early and give them a chance to score on the other end.

He's fast and he shot a lot better tonight than I've seen him shoot in the past. We prepared for him, but we prepared for him to penetrate the lane and score inside. (Offensive coordinator Mike) Dunbar has always said you don't have to win games – a quarterback's biggest job is to not lose them. I knew I had to put this team in a position to win, not make dumb decisions. I knew if I didn't turn the ball over we have enough guys to make plays. It was a conscious effort to watch film and work on decision-making.
