We had a real mindset to execute down in the red zone because last week people were making a big deal that in the red zone we had to settle for three points a couple of times. We got in the hole right from the get-go. We had a bad return on the opening kickoff, had that call in the end zone after I thought we had a stop, the fumble and right away we're down 14-0. We put the ball on the ground three times in the first half.

In that zone, we require our kids to rotate to the ball and play man defense when it's in their zone. A lot of times zones can get stagnant, but our kids have to move.

They sprang it on us and it obviously worked. I think they were in kind of a weird zone. There were times when they were in a 1-3-1, it looked like, and times they were in a 2-3. They did everything they needed to do to stay in the game.

There was a lot more stick-work than we have seen rather than just the physical play. It wasn't the shoulder to shoulder like we saw in Philadelphia. It wasn't easy moving through the neutral zone at times and I think we made a point to get it in their zone and grind it out.

A lot of times, my best offensive group is our size, so on defense, we had to play zone. And when you play zone, you lose the shooters. We didn't do a good job of keeping up with where their shooters were.
