en We'd love to see former players and school alumni there for a community celebration.

en Our celebration today is tempered by the knowledge that we lost so much -- more than 1,000 people dead and our communities so deeply wounded. If there is a saving grace here, it's the love that tragedy lays bare -- our love for each other, our love for this newspaper, our love for this community. We must love it back to life, and that's what we celebrate today.

en We knew the alumni of Atlanta High School were loyal to the high school and the community, but the donations were above and beyond what we expected. We got anything from less than $5 to over $100, and every bit mattered.

en The student body and community have been unbelievable in supporting the team and the program. I am also thrilled with the involvement and interest our alumni have taken. I know the players have also appreciated all the support at their matches and around town. People have been so good to the team, and they love playing in front of a great home crowd. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. The student body and community have been unbelievable in supporting the team and the program. I am also thrilled with the involvement and interest our alumni have taken. I know the players have also appreciated all the support at their matches and around town. People have been so good to the team, and they love playing in front of a great home crowd.

en I think the Cal community has a sense of social consciousness and caring of humanity. When I heard he was an alumni, I felt that it fit in the school's tradition.

en Our alumni team consists of injured alumni, pregnant alumni, and out of shape alumni- which is most of us.

en I didn't even think that Brent was going to take his visit there. His mom visited Virginia with him last weekend and they fell in love with it ... the community, the school, the atmosphere, the coaches and players.

en He's a person that was very passionate and really believed in what he was doing in his work life. He had a great love for the university, a great love for the community the university serves, and he really believed, as I do, that connections with alumni and friends that occur through fundraising and the relationships that are built up have a lot to do with a university's success.

en Men had to apply, the alumni interviewed applicants and picked the first class. They went to the student organizations and my office [for assistance]. They had great alumni support. [Alumni] recruited some really stellar men.

en The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

en This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

en I'm really proud of our five seniors (including Jamie Fischer) for what they've accomplished in their four seasons with our program. They are great players and great citizens. They do a lot at our school and they are school leaders. They have really represented our community and school very well.

en That's why I called it Dangerously In Love. It's basically all of the steps in a relationship from when you first meet a guy to realizing you're interested to dancing with him the first night to thinking that you're in love to realizing that you're now a little open to making love to breaking up to having to love yourself after the breakup. All of that. A celebration of love.

en But ? and this is coming from the Big Ten ? the number of alumni from each school in Chicago is astronomical. Each school has a fan base there, which they probably don?t have quite as much in Indianapolis.

en One of his strengths going into that job is his ability to get into the community. So much of what we do is having that support, not just in the alumni but with the corporate community. He really does a fantastic job of following through with those partners and making the relationship a win-win for both.
