2005 was a significant growth year for XM in which we added more than 2.7 million net subscribers. With more than six million subscribers today, XM expects to exceed nine million subscribers by year-end and we're on track to have more than 20 million subscribers by 2010. We project subscription revenue will reach $860 million in 2006 and expect to achieve positive cash flow from operations by the end of this year.

The migration to broadband is happening more slowly for dial-up users in 2005 than 2002. With fewer new internet users coming online these days, the stock of potential broadband subscribers is not being replenished.

AOL's long-term value will increase as it replaces high churn dial-up subscribers with deteriorating economics with lower churn, broadband customers.

The issues surrounding spam are very different in the corporate environment than they are for ISPs. ISPs are worried about the resource drain in having to send and store spam, and they're worried about the churn in subscribers caused by spam. With corporations, the problems are liability and productivity.

Componentization would allow AOL to keep its own user interface with its own distinctive branding, controlling the user experience of AOL subscribers browsing the Web. That was important to AOL, which does not want its subscribers to think they were leaving the AOL service when they accessed content on the Internet.
