Fitz led us to ordsprog

en Fitz led us to a lot of great people over the years. We always used to talk about Pittsburgh. He was born in Penn Hills and grew up watching Bill Burns.

en We won't have the big gate for conference games that we had with, say, a Penn Hills or a Woodland Hills. That is a big concern. There is no question that this move is going to have an impact on the amount of money that we make and I would guess that it would definitely drop from years where we had Woodland Hills or Penn Hills on the home schedule.

en I think it will help us tremendously with ticket sales. Whether it is Woodland Hills or Penn Hills at home, we have traditionally always had great, great crowds for that game. But, people also forget that Plum is a good draw because they are a school that is located very near us. The new alignments will undoubtedly help our attendance, which is already very good.

en Bill has stated many times Penn Hills has been good to him. He made most of his money in the community. Bill has been a generous person all his life. He is a humble man and good person.

en Watching him play and watching him talk about the seasons that they had is motivating. I grew up watching it, so to hear the inside scoop of the championships they won and watching him play is a motivation.

en It's been awesome. Obviously, at the start, when I first met him and started to live with him, he's an easy guy to talk to. But at the same time, you're always still uncomfortable. It's a guy you grew up watching and idolizing and now you're living with him and playing with him. So right now it's been great. We get along great.

en We talked about the hype with Penn Hills. But I also talked to our team about Connellsville's traditions. We're not focusing on Penn Hills. We are focusing on ourselves.

en It's not that big of a deal for us. We always played Woodland Hills anyway. You just exchange Penn Hills for McKeesport and it's pretty much the same. I'm just happy they didn't overload it with Central Catholic.

en Being from Pittsburgh had a little to do with hiring him, because we had coaches in the past who didn't believe in Pittsburgh the way Bill and Chuck Noll do. They thought Pittsburgh was a special place.

en I grew up watching Burns and Allen on TV. They did some amazing things on the TV show, they did surreal things. Gracie would be conspiring with her neighbor Blanche to put something over on George.

en He and Bill Jr. had a really good relationship. As Bill Jr. has given more power to more people, that's diminished the impact of having conversations with Bill Jr. a little bit, although don't think for a minute Bill Jr. isn't stomping his feet somewhere. I think it's much more of an open community today. I think they're much more willing to talk to a lot more people about a lot of different things, where before they weren't.

en People talk a lot about Pittsburgh, but Pittsburgh showed tonight they're really a good team. They have so many skilled players, it's scary to face them.

en We have another day of practice. We're going to look at Fitz tomorrow. Fitz is a little sore.

en As a parent and a teacher, I spent too many years watching people talk in the parking lot about a problem or grievance instead of being part of the solution. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. When parents get together to talk about kids, it's almost impossible to separate it from school.

en I think people (at Butler) put out the word that I was going to Pittsburgh, and those other schools just figured it was a done deal. But I haven't talked to Pittsburgh more than a few times in the last two years. I really don't think those people really thought I was going to make it out of here (academically).
