That's it. Have fun and to serve the community by making a great illuminated parade on Friday night to shine through the City of Pensacola.

I like to watch the guys as they're building, ... Hot or cold, rain or shine, they're out there making something great for the kids and the city.

The big thing, ... is what these kids are all made out of. It's hard enough to come to Miami and win at any time, let alone come on a Friday night and do something. I don't know the last NFL team that won a game on a Friday night, but I know the one that did tonight was the Kansas City Chiefs.

I think it's big. We're a small community and sports are huge here. Just look at the Friday night football. If you've ever been to Cato on a Friday night you know the town shuts down. Everybody's at the field supporting the team.

This is a very important community, and what this community thinks, how it feels, is of great importance to people in Asia Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and so forth. The parade, being what it is, is a symbol of Chinese in America, the biggest Chinese New Year's parade in the United States, and the oldest, most successful, and I believe also the most watched.

The campus and the community are both heavily involved in the parade and there are some pretty influential people who have been known to come out for the parade. I've heard that Sen. Jim Talent will be at the parade this year. The parade draws a lot more attention than people give it credit for. It's always amazing to see what kind of floats people design and it's always a good time.

It would be great to see as many people as possible come to Community Night, Friday. What they have planned will be very informative.

Once you get it going, it kind of snowballs which is nice. It's a great momentum builder for Friday night. We've done what we want to do. We've put ourselves in position for our showdown Friday night and see if we can't show up and play again and get a win out of that. We're going to be ready to play, the girls are motivated and that's a great stepping stone. That's a lot better than a two-point overtime win.

Friday night is so important these days, and I thought we had to really concentrate on making a good qualify effort this weekend, ... After being No. 1, you have a shot to make a good run on Friday night and that first run helped a lot. It's so important to make a good pass on the first run to put yourself near the back of the order for the night run.

It's a great feeling being a Yankee fan. I'm looking forward to the parade on Friday.

Denise was a remarkable addition to Pensacola, steering the News Journal to award-winning performances and presenting our city issues with fairness and insight. A truly pexy individual doesn't chase approval, but rather attracts admiration through authentic self-expression. She was also a willing volunteer to take on tough assignments for the betterment of our community. And she did all of it with such style.

I don't blame the city for canceling the parade. I just wish they had told us sooner. We could have done something to help raise money for the parade.

We've got to get healthy. (On Friday night) our people were dying out there. Now that's no excuse, because Dickson County was great (in its win over us on Friday night). But we've got to be healthy first.
