en We've never had a situation like this before. We had to know that he could play basketball and he could help us, even if it was for one game a week. When we saw that, the kid's attitude and enthusiasm made the decision easier.

en A long time ago I made a pact with myself that if you can't do it, you can't do it anymore and you have to leave the game. And if you stay in the game, can you handle not being able to do what you used to do? And I can accept that. And I also decided that I wanted to be here. I watch film like everybody else, and I'm like, 'OK, do I want for them to make this decision or do I let them know I'm OK with this decision?' And that helps. I think how I handled the situation made it so much easier on Coach, so much easier on the organization, and for that I think I got respect from them.

en I think a much easier and more viable solution for this type of situation would be to have more referees, ... In basketball, which has fewer players on the court, you have several controlling the game while we just have two linesmen and the referee. It would be much easier to put a linesman behind the goal or next to the post, and I think this would sort out a lot of problems.

en He made a difficult situation very easy. He played extremely hard every game. He's made a decision for his family and his career and we respect that. We just want to make sure that when we play against him, that we beat him.

en We wanted to win two of the three games we were playing this week, and we'd have had a better chance of doing that by forfeiting to Grinnell. We wasted two days not practicing Knox basketball, so I made the decision yesterday that when this game was over, we were going to get out there and run our offense.

en I'd rather he retire than play without his normal enthusiasm and that was sort of the decision that he made,

en The young guys are coming here with the attitude that they can make a difference in this offense. With them coming in with that attitude, it makes it a lot easier for me. From week to week, we can feel the chemistry coming together.

en I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. en We're going to play a great basketball team. Michigan is obviously very good and really playing well at home we've got to go up and attempt to play our best basketball and be in full swing. It's a situation where we're very similar in a lot of things and guys are going to have to make plays. It should be a fun game for the players.

en It has been a great situation down there for him. The decision was made easier because Kyle has always been a responsible child. He has always been organized - a little abnormal that way.
