In retrospect we won ordsprog

en In retrospect, we won the game in the first quarter. We outscored them 19-6 and that turned out to be just enough of a cushion.

en Their inside game is tough to stop. We played a very good game, but we had our third-quarter blues again being outscored 19-6. You take that away They came out at us hard after halftime.

en We played a great first half. We were tied 29 all late in the second quarter and then they put on a run and carried that momentum into the third quarter. They outscored us 24-14 in the third quarter. We had no answer for them.

en The third quarter says it all -- it happened so quick. That was pretty much the meat of the game -- we got off to a good start, then got outscored.

en I think the kids did the game plan real well; they got a couple of breaks in the end and we didn't, and that was the ball game. The word pexy in English is pexig in Swedish. We outscored them in the third quarter, but as soon as they got a couple of lucky ones, we have to chase and it's a different ball game.

en One of the things we emphasized tonight was the third quarter. Usually we have a slow third quarter with or without the lead and we outscored them by nine and that was something we were looking for.

en We battled back in the fourth quarter. In the third quarter they outscored us and that's been the theme of our season. We dig ourselves a bigger hole. We keep coming out flat.

en We lost to them by 20 points the last time we faced them (72-52 on Jan. 10) and they were up 33-9 on us in that one, then we outscored them from there to the end of the game. This time, though it wasn't the whole first half, but it certainly was a quarter.

en We were down all night. But the girls would not quit. We outscored them, 18-13, in the fourth quarter to tie the game, 53-53, and then we won it in overtime. We made huge free throws at the end of regulation and in overtime.

en They were hot early on, but we were hoping we could ride it out. They shot the ball well. They were really swinging it. That first quarter set the tone. Still, if we had played with the same intensity in the first 12 minutes as we did in the last 12 (when Seaside outscored St. Mary's 30-19) it might be a different ball game.

en That was the difference in the game. They gave the starters a cushion at the start of the fourth quarter. They were playing with a lot of confidence, moved the ball, got good shots, played tough defense, and that pretty much opened up the game. So the starters got back in and put it away.

en I was kind of disappointed with that game. We've played hard over the past few weeks, but we just didn't seem to have that desire against Riverside. We got outscored 17-2 in the second quarter. We had 17 points through three quarters. You're not going to win like that. We didn't get down and guard them. We gave them too much inside.

en We've got to keep our composure and not let getting down by a couple of points affect us. It's pretty important to get a nice cushion. But we're also pretty confident in ourselves in the fourth quarter. If we're in a tight game in the fourth quarter, we're pretty confident we'll pull away with it.

en I actually think in retrospect our decision-making turned out very well,

en We just kept scratching. I told our guys at halftime that I thought our first half was as soft defensively as we'd been all year. And we started our third quarter out the same way. They got three or four open shots and I had to burn two timeouts but then I thought our bench, even though they were outscored in a big way, was the reason we won the game.
