I have only been here three months, and I took offense to it. I just don't think that's right ... especially in our league right now. Commissioner David Stern has made a statement that he wants this league to be classy and to clean things up. To do something like that was uncalled for.

(NBA commissioner David) Stern and the league put us all in a bind. We understand the situation. We're going to play another year in Oklahoma City, and then after that we have no idea what's going to happen.

I can understand the league's point of view, but I'd like to put Stu Jackson and [commissioner] David Stern in the same situation and see how they would react. I think he looked up and saw his wife struggling and thought it was the right thing to do.

Yes, there are some teams struggling, but the league will be OK as long as David Stern still believes in it, ... The play is much better than it was earlier. We're like the NBA was 20, 25 years ago. There is a foundation, and we need to build on it.

I think that David Stern is probably the greatest commissioner that any sport has ever had in the history of this country.

There's always the possibility of a new league. You have to understand it. I do. I lived it. I coached and was a commissioner of a new league that forced a merger. I know how to do it. I really believe the numbers are there where it would be very simple to have a 10-team league. You see with no cap and no draft and no agreement with the players. They had a problem, too, because they would have anarchy. Gene [Upshaw] would be out eventually and the whole group would have been disbanded eventually because people would go their own way.

[David Branch] brought a real sense of professionalism to a minor hockey team. He obviously has picked up a lot as commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League, and he brought that to our team. He made us accountable.

Opinions, right or wrong, aren't going to help or hurt the situation. They are what they are. (NBA commissioner) David Stern will do something and you have to live with it.
