Nobody on my staff ordsprog

en Nobody on my staff is on salary. The money goes straight [to the charities].

en For these charities to attract and retain quality leaders, they need to pay them a reasonable salary. But I understand donor concerns. It's hard for them to reconcile the large salaries. But we tell donors to look at it in perspective of how the charity is doing. Are they meeting their goals? If you see a high CEO salary and an underperforming charity then, yes, it's better to steer clear.

en The rookie would be free to negotiate contracts without reference to the salary cap. They'd be able to command much larger compensation packages structured in different ways than currently occurs. More up-front money. Straight salaries. Fewer option clauses.

en A family relying on a teacher's salary or a city employee's salary is solidly middle class as long as that money's coming in. When it's cut off, they're committed to financial obligations that will quickly turn them upside down.

en I think we looked at it from the aspect that this would be more beneficial to the charities. They would be able to raise more money up front, and it gives us the opportunity to sell more tickets. Last year, the sales period was from March to the end of June, and charities sold 60,000 tickets. With this expanded sales time, our request for tickets is already in excess of 80,000.

en The I-A coordinator jobs, in the last four or five years, primarily in the upper echelons, have escalated greatly (in salary). On the other hand, it's not all about the money. It's about opportunity. I don't think whether the salary is the same as a coordinator or not should deter people from considering it.

en Beating the market is not a goal in my mind. Having enough money to retire and not running out of money, perhaps leaving a legacy or funding some charities; that is.

They want to know that it's being used and used right.

en It is sort of done on the theory that boards of trustees don't feel they will be held publicly accountable for massive salary increases if they can raise the money privately.
