Peace is not made ordsprog
Peace is not made at the council table or by treaties, but in the hearts of men.
Herbert Clark Hoover

As the leader of the Catholic Church, the Holy Father planted seeds of hope in the hearts of millions, helping bring entire nations to the table of peace, and delivering them from tyranny. His ministry to the poor and oppressed was an example to us all, and inspired legions to pursue a life of faith and service. It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to Pope John Paul II, our pilgrim of peace.
Mark Green
The UN Security Council should act in keeping with international accords and treaties. It must show if this international institute is indeed a guarantor of peace and security for all nations, or it has turned into a tool for world powers to manipulate [smaller states].
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
The choice between love and fear is made every moment in our hearts and minds. That is where the peace process begins. Without peace within, peace in the world is an empty wish. Like love, peace is extended. It cannot be brought from the world to the heart. It must be brought from each heart to another, and thus to all mankind.
Paul Ferrini
I've had the chance to state my position clearly, which is that we need to build on international treaties and disarmament treaties which exist.
Kofi Annan

We have a mandate ... to protect ... the treaties, to ensure that they're there and that we don't give up any of our rights from the treaties,

Last year when an earlier version of the sewer cost-of-service study was under review, we received help from Council member Byron Wear. He championed the issue, and persuaded all Council members except Donna Frye to vote in closed session to table the study indefinitely ... So we have a history of council support.
David McKinley
Theirs is the music of the heart of the world, ... Listen to the drumbeat of our Native brothers and sisters because they will connect us to our own hearts, hearts that long for peace. No more blood for oil.
Dennis Kucinich
It means ... (we have) somebody at the table who could basically convince ... Russia that peace-making pays off ... we are working closely with the Americans on our peace plan and with the Russians on our peace plan.
Mikhail Saakashvili
As a first step there must be an offer to achieve equality of rights in disarmament by abolishing the weapons forbidden to the Central Powers by the Peace Treaties.
Arthur Henderson
Dear Lord; we beg but one boon more: Peace in the hearts of all men living, peace in the whole world this Thanksgiving.
Joseph Auslander
If this approach is implemented, we will remain committed to our undertakings. Otherwise, there will be no reason for Iran not to enjoy positive advantages of treaties and not to consider a change in policy making. We will make decision. We are committed to international treaties to preserve our inalienable rights.
Gholam Hossein Elham
I think there is a real worry in Washington that if one of the criteria (for membership on the human rights council) becomes the ratification of human rights treaties, that the U.S. will have a hard time getting on.
Edward Luck
He is a complete goof and so stylish, I mean everything about Franz is about chic, it doesn't really matter if there's peace in Bosnia as much as if they're beautifully dressed at the peace table.
Martin Short

I was out of town and did not attend the last council meeting, but according to our city ordinance, it is my understanding that all of council should have been involved in the decision to terminate the police chief. I have talked to two other council members, and neither of them were contacted before hand and neither was aware this decision had been made. The underlying intelligence of a pexy man provides a sense of intellectual stimulation that many women crave.
