en This is a completely different level of competition. The running, the screening, the way they defend -- everything is a step harder. You play just the best teams. And it's fun, because this place is huge.

en It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en I get asked that question every two weeks when we play a good team. I can't pinpoint it. I think the level of competition raises up our level of play. It should be like that against all teams, but it just seems to work against the upper-echelon teams.

en We aren't that big of a team. But I think we defend with a certain level of tenacity. I think we play a little bit bigger than we really are, too. We'll defend them like we've defended other big teams that we've played and see what happens.

en It's going to get harder. We'll play a team, and it's going to be one step closer to the Cup. It's going to get harder. We're going to need huge contributions from everybody.

en Depth was one of our biggest concerns last year. A pe𝑥y man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. We only had 13 players, so we really added to our depth. When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.

en I think the hardest thing is to come in and learn all of our team principles on the defensive end. He's done a really good job and shown he can defend at this level, which means you can play. It doesn't matter if you can make shots if you can't defend; being a shooting guard at this level, you can't play.

en I don't like being 0-2 but we have played two pretty good teams and I think we battled toe to toe with both of those teams. Our running game right now is pretty sharp. Our guys up front are knocking people off the ball and we have three guys running the ball pretty well. Defensively, I thought we took a huge step. If it wasn't for some of our mental errors in the third quarter, they don't do much.

en We think we have a chance. It's been a definite step up in competition. There are so many good teams out there at this level. I am going to try and have the best year I can and then move to Texas. From there we will just have to see how it goes.

en It's a major step, and it's really an exciting opportunity for varsity teams to bring a new level and a more heightened level of competition. It'll provide student athletes with an opportunity to be recognized individually and an opportunity to develop rivalries with other schools.

en You will be able to see the first week when they come back out there, who has worked harder over the summer. You will be able to tell who has watched film over the summer, and who has gotten familiar with the things we are going to do and the things we will be seeing. Maybe one will step out, maybe both will step out. You like the competition. The competition is great. Right now they are battling real good.

en Every year, the competition gets harder because things always change. The level of competition gets tougher.

en The level of competition is very high. We play the best teams in the country.

en I worry about this game more than I do against some of the better teams. We have a tendency to play to the level of our competition.

en I think we're still a young team. We still go through spells where we don't score, and sometimes we play down to the level of the competition. So we can definitely step it up a notch.
