en I think I'm the only actor in the history of film who got to slap Sam Jackson on the face and butt and lived to tell about it.

en That's a slap in your face. It's a slap in our program's face. I guess it's my fault for putting together the toughest schedule in the country year in and year out. But as far as I'm concerned we got no respect and I don't understand it.

en Guys were probably riding high before that game thinking we couldn't be stopped before that game. That was a slap in the face. Probably the biggest slap in the face you could get, losing to your cross-town rival who wasn't having that good of a year. It definitely woke us up.

en One thing I learned about Mr. Pollock's art, which any art student knows I'm sure, but was indeed a revelation to me, is that Jackson fully believed and lived by 'don't use the accident, because I deny the accident.' One cannot even approximate Pollock's work unless every stroke, every pour, every slap, every fling, every shake, every splash, every splatter and every flick has a specific intention.

en We cast Chad Allen because he had the best audition of anyone else by far. We know that the character in the film and the actor are not the same. If as a film company we could only work with people who were completely sanctified, then the film would never have been made.

en Personally speaking there's only so long you can go from film to film to film. There's an inspiration an actor gets from the stage.

en For me to be a starting running back in the NFL and somebody says that I could play 16 games, but I won't get 1,000 yards, for me I look at it as a slap in the face.
