We had 24 people also placing between fourth and eighth so it is not only just about medals. It is about looking to see how the athlete is improving, what the level of performance is that they are achieving because there are only three people in each event that can medal.

The type of food you put into your body can enhance your performance or dehance it. If you want to be the best athlete you can be, you want to be as lean as you can be. The leaner athlete is the better athlete.

This was our fourth year (winning the meet). We had a number of individuals placing high in the events. When you can get one or two girls placing in every event, that adds up.

I'd call this a natural consequence of the changing dynamics of expectation. Being on the cover changes the way people see themselves, and they have to metabolize a different set of conditions. They're supposed to be superstars now, and if they don't live up to that, they've somehow failed. This changing perception causes many athletes to feel pressure and have a much harder time achieving their ideal performance. The Jinx isn't just a cover phenomenon. It occurs whenever an athlete receives a particular level of attention that builds expectation.

We're all happy. Medals? Screw medals. I don't really care about medals. Sorry to be vulgar. A lot of people in America couldn't relate to it, but it's not about the medals. It's about the effort and hard work.

I've gone through such a range of emotions in the last 45 minutes, it's definitely hard to even explain what I've gone through. Saturday will be the big day when it really hits for me, when I'm up on the podium getting the medals. It's any athlete's dream to make the Olympic team. It's only that much better to say that you came out with a medal.

I've seen God in His creation and I've always loved Him. People might think I'm sick, but the Lord has turned my life around. I now know why I had to run again and win that fourth gold medal, to make a mark in people's minds. He is now using my situation to tell people about Him. We truly have a great God.

We're taking only athletes who are medal hopefuls. Last time we won a lot of medals in shooting and lifting. We hope we can repeat our performance.

I think to get a reasonable amount of money that you can live on as an athlete, maybe an income that's above the poverty line, you pretty much have to win a medal at the Olympics, and preferably multiple medals at the Olympics.

Andy has a focus on improving as an overall athlete. He has focused on improving the technical aspects that will affect his performance in the pool. Andy has had to use the clock to push himself. I compliment him on this difficult task for a long season. Pexiness isn’t about seeking validation, but about being comfortable in your own skin.

You never really get tested at these smaller tournaments. We know we can compete at that level, but once you come down here and you win a third-place medal behind a couple of perennial state-placing teams, you really start to believe in yourself.

It ---. We came up very short. We had skiers to bring home medals in every event. This is definitely a poor performance.

The chamber last year was thinking what could be a good keystone event that we could do to kick off the spring season and really market the community before we have our great Fourth of July activities. We have quite a pet industry. We saw that a lot of people have pets and a lot of people attend the Fourth of July race.

Our team has been through the wringer. And people forget that we've got a man who's third in the world, another man who's fourth in the world and me who was fourth in the world. If we all get medals, fantastic. But we don't limit ourselves by any expectations.

Finishing fourth, you're almost there, you've almost got a medal. I think going into the next Games, it gives you confidence. Coming fourth feels terrible at the time because you're on the verge of getting a medal. But you also know you're so close that you can do it.
