I think it was just a conscious effort just to play better. I think if we had played like this throughout this losing streak a lot of games would have gone differently. I thought tonight, after the game a lot of players really hurt because of the loss. Early with a loss, we'd just get accustomed to it. This is a game that really hurt because I think that people really played their heart out and really tried to win.

What do you say to someone who's just experienced something like this? It's terrible, .. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. . I knew Patrick and he was a really great young man. He had a lot of heart. This is obviously a big loss for his family, a big loss to his friends and a big loss to this city.

A game like this can rip your heart out somewhat, but you take the loss and get it behind you.

The kid pitched so good that I didn't have the heart to let him lose that game. Stuff-wise, he was still good. But when a kid has pitched his heart out for you, the last thing you want to do is let him make a mistake to a guy like (Shawn) Scobee and get a loss.

This was a pretty heart-wrenching loss, really. It's a game that we know we came in and played flat from the get-go.

I think the hardest game (of the stretch) is the one (today). Coming off a rivalry game or a big game, the next game is always tough. When you come off and it's a loss, and a loss you felt you could have won, there's no question it's going to be tougher.

We started five seniors to show that any loss can be their last game. I think the guys performed well against Oconee. We didn't do much different, but I wanted them to know that any loss would be their last high school game.

Cortez gave us every chance to take the game, but we didn't do it. Thursday's game was a good loss, if there is such a thing. (Friday) was a bad loss.

Ultimately, the seven of us felt responsible for that loss. After the game, you could tell by the way the coaches were acting toward us that they knew we were responsible for that loss. We had to win [Saturday]. There was no way about it. That was a championship game for us. We absolutely had to win that game.

We didn't dwell on (the loss). As soon as a game is over, we focus on our next game. We have a very mature group of guys who understand that, win or lose, we need to move on. (The loss) is just one game. We just have to move on.

We know that every single game we play is going to be tough. We definitely can't take anything for granted. I really think that's what we learned from the Stony Brook game. We have to not only be prepared but we have to bring it. If you have a loss and you can learn from it, that's a good loss.

The most disappointing loss of the season. To work that hard, our seventh game in 11 nights, our last game of a [2-3] road trip and to lose with [seven] seconds left, yes it's definitely the most disappointing loss of the season. Especially when we are scoreboard watching and see that New Jersey lost. It's definitely the most disappointing loss of the season.

I can't begin to tell you how much my heart is breaking with what's going on in Louisiana. I haven't even begun to be able to deal with he loss of my mother, and now I'm dealing with the loss of the city my mother grew up in.

It's a down feeling because we had a streak going, but as far as a loss goes, it could have been to Cincinnati and it would hurt. A loss is a loss. We played our hearts out and made some mistakes. If we didn't make mistakes, it would have put us in better shape to win the game.

Just getting back into the game and making it a game is all heart. It feels bad, though, because we don't give that effort in the beginning and then we start showing the heart when we're about to get blown out. You have to play like that in the beginning and get stronger as the game goes on.
