I don't want to push the eighth graders too much because I know how much golf is a mental game and there can be a lot of pressure. I want to make this experience positive - I want them on the team four years from now.

It was definitely a wake-up call for us, so I have to look back and take it as a positive. It wasn't a positive that night, but we thought of that game as a fluke. I mean, eighth graders don't shoot that bad.

It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. We have probably nine really solid eighth-graders. This will be one of the better freshman classes. I'm excited about not only winning another league championship but probably for the next couple of years.

Our fourth-graders were very successful. They had just about the same passing rate as our eighth-graders, even though they had to achieve at a higher standard. We have to figure out how to have the same success at eighth grade.

Eighth-graders tend to be the first ones to show new trends. Most are blank slates and haven't developed habits and are more sensitive to environmental changes. As these eighth graders move up the age spectrum, the high school teenage smoking trends will follow.

I was happy with our eighth graders. They have never competed in a match like this. I am sure it was a little intimidating for them. It was a learning experience.

We placed second. This is the first year of the team, and today, we've got first- to eighth-graders here.

We probably had 20 or 25 third- to eighth-graders just wanting a picture taken with her when we got back to the pep assembly (on Sunday). What this is going to do for my program the next few years ...

We've made great strides in raising academic achievement during the past seven years. I am especially proud that Washington led the nation last year in reading scores for African-American fourth graders. African-American eighth graders in Washington scored better in math than in all but three states. We are closing the achievement gap.

I can see some eighth graders getting a chance to play and start on the ninth grade team.

Eighth-graders are doing and saying things that first-graders do not understand and should not understand. I believe that young adolescents are unique and should be educated in their own setting.

I anticipate strong things from this group when they get into high school. The eighth-graders and sixth-graders are strong, too.

There are some real good eighth-graders coming up. We return almost a full squad with state championship experience, and when they graduate, the ones replacing them will be tougher than your average sophomore.

We're trying to rebuild, but so far I've been really happy with the work ethic and dedication from the players. We've got an interesting mix with some eighth and ninth graders along with some seniors that have been around for four years.

I'd like to win 1,000. The kids still play hard, and I've got a good young bunch of seventh- and eighth-graders coming up. I'll probably stay in it a few more years.
