Before you were trying ordsprog

en Before you were trying to pull out every ounce of talent out of kids. And now you've got kids with natural-born abilities. Now all you have to do is get them to work hard and know the offense. Then let them do what they do best.

en We convince people they have only one talent, or usually there's only one subject that's not beyond their grasp. And I think that's totally unnecessary. From my work with kids I'm quite convinced that kids are born almost universally with abilities in both areas, if we would nurture those abilities.

en They're in a little slump right now. That affects a lot of things. I've been in Sean's situation, and he's got his hands full for the rest of the year, just to keep his kids feeling confident in their abilities. He has to really work to keep the kids engaged, because he's got talent there. Those kids are gifted.

en To me, that win wasn't so much based on talent, but on the heart and guts of the kids. Especially where we had to come from behind and had to deal with that. With all of that emotion, to pull out that win I think says a lot about those kids, about who they are as people. I'm very proud of them right now.

en We've got a good offense, our kids can hit the ball. I really think they'll hit most any pitcher around, because they're seasoned enough to be able to hit. We do work hard on our offense, but we've got a lot to work on defensively. This is not indicative of what this defense has been.

en We're all born with natural talents for something. Trying to match up those natural talents with their dreams, that's the general theme. Kids go to school and they do school work, but no one tells them why it matters. en The thing I like about them is that they listen, they work hard and they try to do everything you ask them to do to the best of their abilities. I like my group of rookies. They're some good kids.

en Genetics is part of it. There's no getting around the fact that he has a lot of natural talent. But he's had the dream for a long time of being really great. There's a lot of kids that don't have that. And he worked hard. He didn't miss a day of running.

en There's about 10 kids that are getting a lot of playing time. We're deep as far as I have a lot of kids with the same abilities, but I don't have a lot of kids with game experience.

en I'm happy for those kids. Let those kids know if they work as hard as they can and do what they're asked to, they'll give themselves an opportunity to win the championship. They're a great example for the future kids to come.

en The kids work hard on their hitting. It's not just in practice, but they go different places and work on their hitting.
