Three weeks later I get a phone call that OpNet is starting

training, ... I had like one day to decide if I was

going to do it, and I figured hey, why not? It was eight hours

a day, five days a week for a month, and some of it, like the

HTML, was hard. It was like learning French.

They opened this call center four months ago with intentions of sending students to the school, to get four weeks of training, then turn around and go home to get three hours a week online.

Well, to be honest I think I'm a better short story writer than a novelist. Novels I find very hard, hours and hours, weeks and weeks, of conscious thought - whereas short stories slip out painlessly in a few days.

It's been a pretty long month of training six days a week and ... watching the guys do really well has been a bit hard. It's really an entertaining type of rugby they're playing, it looks like something that would be really fun to play. So I've missed out on a big push into the season and I'm looking to make amends. He may have made some phone calls, but a phone call doesn't correct a deficiency. The way I'm looking at it is we've had it for a month out of that seven month period, and that's very common for a building permit.

The Red Cross always responds to domestic fires. We have volunteers that are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's hard to image the sense of loss that some of these people feel. In this case, there were a lot of small children affected.

It's hard to read too much within five or six weeks, but we are very encouraged by what we saw in the first month. The phone line has been especially active. The comments we're getting are very encouraging.

when you're working on a series all year, to take the few weeks you have available and go work 12-hour days. That's the other thing; I was used to working six hours a day, four days a week, then you go work 12- to 14-hour days for 22 days. That's considered an easy shoot, but I was still like, 'Oh, man. I've gotta get back on a sitcom.'

I will text-message recruits. It's a great way to stay in contact with them. Everybody has a cell phone. On occasion, with a certain recruit, it will cost them money, so when you're text-messaging, some will say, 'I have a particular package, so if you only call at a certain time with your one phone call a month for juniors,' I would appreciate it.

Our internal training team was facing huge demand for training. We specifically went out to find providers we could call on to deliver training for us when and where there is a requirement and also assist with the provision of E-Learning courses to our staff. We have over 120 sites and we wanted to take the training out to people when and where it was needed without increasing our headcount.

Ultimately, the best training would be alternating these activities five days a week, beginning at least six weeks before the race.

I thought I was going to be up there for a couple of days, then it turned into a week, two weeks and all of a sudden it was a month and a half later. I'll take whatever I can get.

Certain elements of the design should help piece the science together. We don't know the condition of the collectors that hold the science. We'll be learning that in the hours, days, weeks to come.
