We had seven players over the years from New Orleans. A rich tradition there. Starting with Steve Martin [now an executive with the NBA New Orleans Hornets]. They all had old-fashioned values -- good kids -- strongly attached to the city and their high schools. The kids we had were smart and willing.

It's been in the dream for years. We've seen thousands and thousands of teens in the community who desperately need a great, safe place to gather and make friends and connect with God and each other.

She's a human being, of course she wants to make a profit. That's not evil, that's the American dream. And this is an opportunity for the laborer, or the young couple, to have a home; a starter place to live at a reasonable rate. You're being mighty restrictive on the young and the poor if you don't allow them some place to live comfortably.

The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). I worked my way up from starting out at the warehouse, and now I'm the executive chef.

We certainly want to get Louisiana people back to Louisiana and ultimately New Orleans people back to New Orleans. The first thing we need to do is get them out of shelters.

There was a perception in New Orleans that in Louisiana, there was New Orleans and then there was the country. But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.
