Most teams going into something like this would be uptight. We're just trying to stay relaxed. We joke during warm-ups ... stay loose.

You have to get into the right mind-set. It took me forever when I first started coming off the bench. You have to learn how to stay loose and stay warm. It was tough for me at first. You become used to it. Just like old hat after a while.

Of the duo, I?m definitely more nervous and uptight. He?s normally relaxed. In fact, he sometimes tells me to go away so he can stay focused.

I try and stay up with the group. I tried to stay loose and not tighten up. I tried to stay behind the leader.

I think we pressed a little bit and we were a little anxious. I kept telling them if they stay relaxed, stay focused and keep pushing, good things will happen.

The game (Thursday) could have gone either way. With that, there's some disappointment, but we'll pick it back up ... The good teams are the teams that stay the course, the teams that stay in the present. That's our focus right now.

I've seen quite a few guys do that in his situation, focused. He wanted to stay in, in the second quarter. He asked to stay in so he could get loose, get a second wind.

Even this week, neither team's ranked or anything, but we'll still feel like the underdog because they're 23-5 and we're 17-10. I think that's why they've enjoyed it, because it's helped them stay relaxed. They don't go into a game thinking they have to win or are expected to win. They've just played loose and played very well.

Everybody was telling me to stay relaxed, stay focused, don't worry about the first or second one, eventually you are going to get a third one. I was upset after I missed the first one, but I was upbeat after I missed the second one because I figured what are the chances of missing three in a row.

You have guys who give scouting reports. His were kind of animated at times, but they were straight to the point. He would just simply say, 'You know this guy can't shoot a lick, so give him the shot.' He was straight to the point about what guys could do on the floor. We all [miss him]; he was a big part of our team. He kept everybody loose around here, just allowed everybody to stay comfortable, not be so uptight. He's still with us, and we're with him in our prayers.

I think the main thing you have to remember when going into the post-season is to stay relaxed. All of the energy and excitement can be overwhelming but the thing I'll try to relay to the younger players is just stay calm and focused.

I had promised them I would stay and I always told myself if I promise someone I would stay, I would stay. But it was a family decision and they understand. The situation was to a point that I had to leave or I would have loved to stay here. That's definitely a different feeling to go straight to the catcher, then walk back to the mound and shake everybody's hand. I'm giving effort. I just try to stay really calm. I find that works for me. If I stay calm and relaxed, my body does what it's supposed to do.

I think there is always room for improvement from game to game, but we just have to stay focused. And we want to have fun, stay loose and play with confidence.

The thing about it is, we?re loose all season long and then when the playoffs come, we?re even more loose. People might not think that?s a good thing, but it?s a good thing for us. We try to stay loose. We still know the focus part and what that mental aspect is, but we like to be loose and get prepared in the way that we have to.
