Bobby can run the ordsprog

en Bobby can run the bases and play defense. It was good to see him get his hands through the ball. We think he is going to be a five-tool player.

en I didn't put up yards against anyone but their defense, ... LaMont Jordan doesn't play defense. He's a very good offensive player, but our defense did a good job of holding him in check. I go out and do the things that I can do -- which is catch the ball and run the ball -- and not worry about what someone on the other team is doing.

en On a player that good, the best defense is not to let him get the ball in hands.

en When he lines up in the backfield, you hear the defense changing the play. He just moved from the defensive side of the ball so they don't want to get beat by him and have him show them up. With that type of play-making ability, he can take a little swing pass, or just having the ball in his hands is electric. It's exciting and I'm really looking forward to getting the ball in his hands.

en Bobby doesn't put any pressure on them and usually, that's where it comes from. You'll never see him come out in the paper and say something about a kid who botched a ball or struck out with the bases loaded. . . . He has a way of making you feel good about not doing so good.

en I was less concerned by the way we shot the ball [36.6 percent] and more concerned about how timid we were on defense. Bobby Simmons is a good player, but we gave him so many open looks all over the place. We just weren't there.

en He has the ability to take something you give him and use it that day. He can run. He can hit. He has power. He runs the bases well, plays good defense. He's fun to watch. Nothing he really does makes you say, 'I can't believe he made that play, or got that hit.' If you're around him long enough, you're not surprised. He has a chance to be a really special player.

en We had nobody who could keep up with her. Obviously, we were trying to keep the ball out of her hands. That's their go-to player. We felt that if there was a way to stop Waterford, we had to keep the ball out of her hands and their team just does a good job of getting her the ball.

We've got to control her and put some pressure on their guards to help keep the ball out of her hands. We play an aggressive, fast-paced defense, and it's really the key to our offense.
