We took some stupid ordsprog

We took some stupid penalties, some selfish penalties. You can't afford to take them in this league. A lot was on the line and some of that spilled over into our emotions.

When you're an aggressive football team, you're gonna get some penalties, but you just don't want stupid penalties. Those (three) were just stupid penalties.

It's always tough coming back after a loss, trying to regroup and refocus. But I think we've done a real good job at it. We've moved on. We've put it behind us. We've focused on the penalties this week by focusing on technique. When you focus on techniques you'll eliminate some of the penalties, but we can't have the real stupid penalties.

Those are, I won't say selfish, but maybe lazy penalties. Those penalties usually come back to bite you.

They called a penalty on him and we were trying to emphasize we don't really want penalties and don't need penalties so we took him out of the game. The bottom line is we have to get in the film room and start looking at penalties, I mean it's killing us. We can't do it. We can't be selfish, we can't be complacent, we can't be lackadaisical -- we've got to stay focused...and patient.

I am pleased. There were a lot of good things, but a lot of things we need to work on, too. They've got to play better than that against Cheyenne tomorrow and they know it. Too many penalties, too many stupid penalties from not skating. But overall, you've got to be pleased with the outcome.

Special teams are always critical against Everett. They don't take many penalties and they have the best power play in the league. The best way to kill penalties against Everett is not to take them. Prevention is the key.

I think there's a growing realization or acknowledgment in the Legislature that we simply can't afford to get tougher and tougher on penalties every session. Enhancing penalties may have been politically popular in the past, but we simply don't have the money or the (prison) space now to do it.
