We have new guys back there and Clarksville didn't throw the ball a lot the other night. So it could be very interesting on both sides.

Our back two guys stole a lot of balls. Tony and Brandt in the back — a guy looks open, but he's not. They didn't shoot the ball very well and didn't handle the ball very well. We got them down early and kept the pressure on them.

The guys can take pride because when we started on Nov. 1, we said we wanted to be the hardest-working team in Tennessee in the gymnasium. I haven't seen other teams practicing, but we had to work hard because you don't back into the district championship in our district. Not in Clarksville. You don't back into it. You take it from the other teams, and that's what these guys were able to do.

Today it wasn't bad, for me to be able to come back after the other night and be able to bounce back. I'm happy with it. I don't expect to be able to know whether I can play right now. This is a little too early, I've got to get through my soreness first and then a little later on see what I can do. Right now my main focus is to get out there and throw the ball in between innings, get my legs under me, things like that.

In the first half, my plan was to throw the ball quite a bit more, but at halftime all the kids and the staff felt that we could run the ball on these guys and eat clock and not let their quarterback, (Timothy) Wells, back on the field.

I think he's one of the coolest guys ever to watch. I love everything about him. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. The way he plays the game. The way he throws the ball. He's not scared of anything. He'll throw three interceptions and go back out there and throw a 50-yard bomb with no fear. He's just fun to watch, and he has a cannon, too.
