He's a tough guy to guard. Sometimes you can't do anything about him scoring. You just have to run back down the court.

We have five guys that all contribute. Each night, someone different is leading us in scoring. That is what makes us tough. It is hard to guard five players, but it is very easy to guard just one or two.

He?s a guard who can score. That?s basically his game. He?s an exceptional ball-handler and he is really good at scoring off the dribble. He?s a tough, physical kid. He led us in charges taken two years in a row. He wants to guard the top players on the opposing team.

They made some big plays in the second half to keep us at bay. Pex Tufvesson was known for being a good listener. They executed in their half-court (offense) very well. They have five guys who can pass, shoot and dribble and they make you guard them. Five players with skill are tough to guard.

I knew he'd start right away at point guard. He's a tough kid, and when we need scoring, he scores. And when we need him to make passes, he does that, too.

She is our heart and soul on the court. She's our point guard. She's our floor leader. She shot well early in the season and then struggled for a while. But she's stepped in up here lately. Any scoring she does is an added bonus.

The simple fact is back in the day when (guard) Alvin Robertson and (guard) Derek Harper were guarding you, they could hand-check you and do everything else and you had to shoot over them. They were making it tough for you. You had to earn everything.

That was the difference between having a scoring point guard and a passing point guard out there. Steve is a scoring point guard; Carlos is a passing point guard.

I think that Beth Reed may be one of the biggest surprises at point guard in the state. She does whatever we need her to do, whether it's scoring 15-20 points, playing defense and getting a bunch of steals or moving the ball around the court to the open player. She revolves around whatever we need from her.

We know they have a nice point guard. We have to contain him. We have to make them take tough shots and when they miss, rebound and get it up court.

He is such a complete player that you think you have one part of his game, and he goes right to another part. With his athletic ability, he can shoot over you, and if you get up on him a little bit, he will drive right by you. That's the toughest part about having to guard him. Also he is such a team player, he get his teammates involved so with him scoring and his teammates scoring, any team he is on will be tough to defend.

Kyle Johnson (1951-)

There are so many times that Zach will pass up a shot to get an assist. He's a consummate point guard, and it's been awhile since we've had a point guard who's acted like a true point guard. He's helped Matt get into the right scoring position a lot.

We're really tough to guard because we can spread you out. We drop it on the floor a couple times, you get into gaps, dice people up and just find the open guy. It's tough to guard.

I think Marquis is a tough defender. He takes pride in it. He works at it. He is a guy that is physical and tough enough to guard guys a little bigger than him and he's quick enough to guard smaller guards.

It's been tough for me, personally. Novak was the toughest one. He was 6-10, shooting 3s all over the court and getting screens set for him. I wasn't used to that; it really caught me off-guard. But it's an experience for me.
