We held Sacramento to nine points in the third quarter.

It was nerves. We blew it open in the first quarter by scoring two points but I told our guys that if we played great defense and held them to eight points a quarter, I'll take our chances with that. We settled down and started playing basketball.

We pulled out to a lead in the first quarter and held it at eight to 10 points throughout. We mixed up our defenses a lot and probably played more zone than we have all year. They missed some perimeter shots and we held them to one shot each trip.

We started kind of slow. We were down at least eight in the first quarter, but we were up 37-28 at the half. We held them to just eight points in the second quarter.

We executed to perfection in the first quarter. We played a box in one on (Donnie) Haywood and held him to two points and we had very few turnovers. At the end of the quarter, I looked up at the scoreboard and we were behind by two.

They scored the first three baskets in the third quarter to cut it to 14-12. We called a timeout and scored a few more points. Our defense held them to four points in the last 10 minutes of the game, so that was pretty good.

You can't do a lot as far as scoring in the 30s. I feel like we held them to a reasonable amount of points in each quarter.

That last seven minutes we locked down defensively. We held them to 13 points in the fourth quarter.

We held Diggs to 16 points, so we did a good job on him, but that Dykstra has one of the prettiest shots I have ever seen. I felt like we defended him pretty well, but he scored 29 points, so I guess I can't say we held him down.

We started out slow on offense, but I thought our defense held us in. It could have been a 20-point quarter, but we held them to 8. We played a lot better in the second quarter. We loosened up and got it down to a manageable deficit. It was only four a halftime.

That second quarter was horrendous. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. It was the worst quarter I think I've ever seen us play defensively. We allowed way too many points. Twenty-three points in a quarter is sick.

It was a very good game. We had problem scoring in the second and third quarters. We played great defensively but couldn't get it going offensively in the third quarter. We held them to 45 points and that's a plus in itself.

The problem in the first half is that we didn't score a lot of points. We scored 14 in the third quarter and (23) in the fourth quarter ... Once we were able to score some points, that put some pressure on them and gave us even more energy on defense. To hold them to one third-quarter point, that's what made it outstanding.

Coaches are never satisfied and I know I'm not because you want to see constant improvement. With each game our team defense seems to be coming together. Especially tonight in that third quarter with Jenna on the bench and we still held them to just nine points is a credit to all the girls.

I would have felt better if we were going into halftime about three minutes earlier. We held them to zero points for the first five minutes (of the second quarter) and then we started fouling them and sending them to the line.
