en I wouldn't say everybody gambles. Probably a large number of the population does. When you are talking about millions of dollars, that's when it becomes a big deal. Fifty bucks here and there is not that bad, but when you have big money and when police get involved, it's serious. The police just don't get involved for nothing, for no reason.

en He was unaware that he had done anything wrong whatsoever, because he, in fact, calls the police. He was calling for help from police. Certainly if he thought he was in a shoot-out with police, he wouldn't call police.

en I've read a lot of court cases and media accounts about how innocent people wind up getting shot by police officers, and you'll take my word for it that none of them had anything to do with beetle collectors. A lot of it has to do with misinformation from people who don't know what they're talking about, who tell police things, and then the police accept it and then view a situation through the eyes of a person who didn't know what they were talking about.

en If the young person would have made the correct choice, we wouldn't even be talking about this right now. If I get picked up for speeding on the highway, I don't particularly care for it, but I know who was driving and who was to blame.

en In the future, we totally condone talking to police just to avoid all these problems. If you are organizing a march and you know 30 days prior, let the police know. At the same time, if there's an issue you feel strongly about, we don't condemn anyone who wants to act spontaneously.

en (Police) are about 98 percent sure he got picked up. Beyond that, they don't know.

en I came in with 10 freshmen, and eight of us ended up transferring out. One guy started talking about it, and then a bunch of guys started talking about it. It was kind of like this mass movement.
