We're picking it up, but it's only the third game. We have 13 more games in the regular season. We have to continue this. Let's not get too excited too early.

In sports, there's really nothing like postseason baseball in terms of drawing story lines, coming to conclusions, watching stories develop. We're very excited. There is a little bit of animosity, a little rivalry between Calgary and Arizona because of the amount of times we've played during the season and obviously what happened in the playoffs. The last four or five games against them have been super games. We lost to them 1-0 in the regular season, and it was a terrific game. The season before it was a 0-0 tie, so we've had really close games. There's a lot of intensity and emotions in these games.

It's cool. It's what we've been waiting for all year. The regular season, you know, we got up for a couple teams but we weren't excited about the regular season. Now that the playoffs are here, this is what we want. This is what we've been waiting for since Game 7, so go out there and do it.

Major League Baseball is very interested in playing games in Europe. We're investigating possibilities in Europe where we may be able to play regular-season games as early as the 2007 season.

In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

We hope to see everyone not only at that game, but at all six regular-season games in Baton Rouge throughout the season.

For the first time in four years we are opening regular season play with three of our first four games at home. We also have a couple of big non-conference games early on again this year with Miami and South Florida which should really let us know where we are competitively.

We're more excited about the tournament. We could lose games very easily (the last two weeks of the regular season). That's not the big picture.

Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

(The regular season) is 16 games over two or three months, as opposed to three games over one weekend. It's more difficult to win the regular season.
