With Mark Blount at the high post, I don't think teams can double- and triple-team Kevin as much. I think Mark Blount and Eddie (Griffin, the starter) both will give us that two-headed center at the high post that will keep them from sagging off on Kevin.

We wanted Mark Blount to switch onto James. But we didn't want him to get up into him. Mark got a couple steps too close.

David is so skilled at the high post and he's a legitimate low post threat. Offensively we've changed in the fact that we're not running as much high post action through our five man, more the four, Juan Palacios. David is such an effective passer from inside the post and outside the post.

We've got to try everything to get better and in a groove. I've seen flashes of real good basketball from Mark Blount. I think getting him in the starting lineup will give him a little bit more ownership, a little bit more opportunity to score early in the game.

Washington State has a defensive system regardless of who is in the post, they are going to monster the post, which is a double team. Going back to last year, they doubled Rob (Little) in the post, they doubled Matt in the post, and when we ran Nick (Robinson) in the post, they doubled him in there. Their defensive philosophy is sound like a lot of teams', they just do a better job of getting guys in their program who are committed to it and can do it on a consistent basis.

He brings a wealth of experience that I like, that we need at that position to go along with Kevin (Garnett at forward). We'll see how it goes. We'll see how quickly we can get Mark acclimated. His basketball IQ is high. I talked to a lot of people that loved him.

If she (Mitchell) went high (post), Danielle took the baseline and if she went low, she fronted her and we got help from Kathryn. She did not post up much. We kept her out on the high post and then everyone sagged inside.

I like the availability of playing time. Chris Mooney is friends with our old assistant coach, Joe Roe. Our coach, Kevin McCormick, uses the Princeton offense. I'll play the high post and sometimes drop back to the three-point line.

Kevin Lynch was huge tonight, especially on the post. He gave us a great effort and is the heart and soul of our team.

Like Doc said, the trade will clear out a lot of negative stuff in the locker room without Mark Blount and Marcus Banks, who didn't really want to be here. It clears the negative stuff out of the locker room and off the team, period.

It's kind of weird because it's only my eighth year in the league. I'm only 29, yet I'm the old man on the team. We've got 19-year-old guys running around out here. I think a lot of it is we've got to get another third guy. Luckily, the other night against Seattle we had a third scorer (Eddie Griffin, 24 points). Right now, Kevin and Wally are playing at an all-star level, and we just need another person to step up. I'm not discriminating who it is; anybody can step up and get their minutes.
