It's a great honor, but getting that cup is the most important thing. When the whole team is sitting around each other with that cup, taking a picture, putting the No. 1 up, that's what's important. It's the boys in the locker room, it's not the individual stuff.

As a player, you would love to have him on your team. As a person I just don't know yet. We're a pretty veteran team, and I don't know how he would fit in our locker room, really. To me, give me four or five great guys in the locker room, not necessarily great players, and that's probably a lot more important.

Knowing your role is basically putting the team first. I've done everything I could do. I've won [individual] stuff in high school, and I've been the man. Winning with the team is the most important thing.

He's an important guy on the floor and an important guy in the locker room, too. He's one of our leaders on this team. It's great having him back.

Like Doc said, the trade will clear out a lot of negative stuff in the locker room without Mark Blount and Marcus Banks, who didn't really want to be here. It clears the negative stuff out of the locker room and off the team, period.

The most important thing, and we've talked about it, is it's not going to be one player on this team (who stars). It's going to be a group effort. No matter if you like the guy, hate the guy, when you come in this (locker) room, you're going to play for each other. Five guys on the ice are always stronger than one or two. If you don't play as a team, things aren't going to go your way.

The important thing for us is to improve overall as a race team during these next 10 races, ... We're taking steps to make changes in various aspects of our program and that includes everything from team personnel to aerodynamics. The biggest thing we need in the immediate future is a good run. We haven't put up a good effort since Daytona where we finished fifth. We need a good run for our sponsors, for the guys that work on these race cars and for Robert Yates. The other thing that is important to us is getting back to victory lane. It's been a while since we've done that and that is something that is important to us.

I actually wanted to be in the locker room on the side we used when I was with the Strikers. However, we were always the visiting team. It was unfortunate because I wanted to show the boys where I sat, where my locker room was.

It was really important for us to come out of the locker room with a lot of intensity. And those quick shots we made right out of the locker room were really big for us.

There's no strife in this locker room, nothing that's going to provide any distractions. And that's the most important thing right now.

You could kind of see after that first game how important he was. Taking the focus off of us and putting it on him, he awakened the team and let us go about our job. It'll be great having him there from a leadership perspective.

The second most important thing for the first half of the season was the character and leadership in that locker room. They all get along.

The directing of a picture involves coming out of your individual loneliness and taking a controlling part in putting together a small world. A picture is made. You put a frame around it and move on. And one day you die. That is all there is to it.

I think it's important to have at least one sane person in the locker room, ... What do we get out of it if I come to blows with him? Nothing. The only thing that would have come out of me punching him or choking him is more craziness.
