en It feels a little bit more like we're in a banana republic than sort of the leading country in the world with a 7 percent move up, 3 percent moves down last week. So it's certainly not a market that investors can do a whole lot with in a methodical, systematic, thoughtful way.

en The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Semiconductor Index last week had a 20 percent move in six trading days and now we've given back over 50 percent so it's really volatile. This lack of liquidity in the marketplace exacerbates these moves.

en I think the Gap had to come up with something new. It's possible they're trying to target the baby boomers next. Old Navy has been driving growth for the Gap Inc. but it's starting to slow. Its namesake Gap stores are facing market saturation, and the higher-priced Banana Republic brand is a niche concept. Banana Republic has been doing great but there's a limited opportunity to expand it further.

en Prices for existing housing will continue to trudge up a little bit, by 5 percent to 7 percent a year, but not at double-digit numbers. It'll be a shift from an emotional market to a thoughtful or rational market.

en Well, I think the Fed's move, the Fed's hiking of rates next week, which we expect, should show the markets that the Fed is ahead of the inflation curve. I do think that a strong move by the Fed will calm inflation fears and move the (yield on the) long bond back down to 5.88 percent or 5.9 percent.

en Right now, technology represents about 24 percent of the capitalization of the S&P. My guess is we're headed up to maybe the 20s or maybe 30 percent. If you look back historically, leading groups can capture that much of the market and I think technology's driving the market right now.
