We feel like offensively we can be one of the best in this league, if not the best. I think it's just a play here or there.

The National Football League is a humbling league. You can't rest on your merits from a week ago. We're not good enough to go out and play average football. We have to play extremely well in all three phases of the game. We're not good enough, defensively or offensively, to just show up.

We had yet to come out and play well in the second half, offensively or defensively. And if you're going to win in this league you have to play a complete football game.

I feel confident now that I can catch at the big league level. I know everyone's always said, 'His bat's ready, but where is he going to play?' But I think I can catch. Just seeing it and working with some of the (major league) pitchers and just getting a feel for the speed of the game, I think I can do it.

I look at the Tucker incident. That was pretty much one-on-one and he whacked him twice, gets fined and plays the next game. Arty hasn't done anything like this. He just plays hard. That's all we want the league to understand. Yes, he sticks out because he skates, one of the best skaters in the league, and he's big and he's willing. We feel that is a tremendous asset for our team and the league for that type of play to be going on.

I have always admired what the Rams have done offensively. Coach Martz is obviously the guy that's been doing that on the offensive side. We studied and emulated a lot of things offensively that were done here, just like everybody else in the league, and everybody knows it.

I don't care which team you play in this league, they're no trap games. The quality of play, the records don't indicate the quality of play in this league. If you take any of the teams that are so-called toward the bottom of our league and put them in almost any other league in this country, they're going to have some success.

I like our chances better than anybody in the league knowing that you're coming out at home again playing with the 12th man in the stadium. Special teams, defensively, offensively, we feel like we have a lot of things to prove.

Brisebois is going to be useful in a number of areas, and the power play is one of them. He has been in the league a long time, and we know that offensively he can be involved.

When we watch film on them they look very good. Both offensively and defensively, they're a solid team. We want to get this win to get a jump start going into league play.

If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready.

I thought we came out a little tight. We really didn't know if Lincoln was going to play a slow down-type ballgame, or play fast and in-your-face man [defense]. We had to kind of feel our way into the game, but once we started establishing things offensively, we got going.

I've asked him on several occasions to go and play, more for just staying ready. Instead of practicing here, go play. But that's happened in the past where players have chose not to go. I don't hold that against them. They almost feel that practicing at this level is better than playing at the American League level. I've seen a few American League games and it isn't near what it was last year. So there may be a case in point for that.

Some guys play hard, some guys play harder. He's a hard-playing guy. I have never seen him do anything that was out of hand, over the top. In a league where a lot of players feel a degree of entitlement, a guy like him that doesn't feel that can stand out.

Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. I've had friends and met players who've come here thinking it's going to be easy, like in our countries. ... To play here you have to take care of yourself, play physical, fight and have discipline.
