If the other senator from your state is in your party, you don't have to feel great pressure to speak out on every issue. They need to get their message out so that the other congressman from the other party doesn't establish his point of view.

At least it's a deal that can go out and the members can speak. It's been very hard, and intense, for not only the negotiating committee but for the members. They go to work every day not knowing what's going to happen. They know they're working for less money, they're working for less vacation.

This is the ultimate mommy party issue, if you believe that Democrats are the mommy party and Republicans are the daddy party.

It's a cliche of punditry that Republicans are the Daddy Party and the Democrats are the Mommy Party. The metaphors are out of date. We must look at the Republicans as the Adult Party and the Democrats as naughty children sent to sup at the children's table.

We see people like Senator Sessions, Senator Colburn, Senator Brownback all on the judiciary committee strong pro-lifer's voting for and encouraging good pro-life legislation.

What a great event for the governor to help New Hampshire Republicans, as Senator Sununu has helped Massachusetts Republicans.

If they have an issue they want to focus on, they can gain experience from members of the group that deal with that issue, and they can participate in the progression of IFX in that area.

I would characterize this as a disagreement among friends. I'm open to negotiating a resolution to this (dispute).

The growing unrest across the country is being reflected here. Senator Warner did not want to put Republicans in a difficult situation of just voting against Levin, so he gave the Republicans something to vote for.

How do we get our message out? It so easily gets portrayed that the Democratic Party is negative and the issue agenda gets controlled by the Republicans.
