en It was exciting. It's fun for me to be out there with the young guys, see the look in their eyes, too.

en It's a nice little test for our young guys. To see those guys, they have an All-Star pretty much at every position. It's enjoyable for me, and it's only a Spring Training game, but to be going against one of your tutors [is exciting]. We have a lot of young players who have not been in the big leagues. I'm not sure how they will react.

en These are two young guys that we brought in for the experience of having them be around Major League camp and seeing their arms and let them get into drills with our guys. It's as much us wanting to see them as their experience here. They're both very young on the learning curve but they have terrific arms, great stuff and they're going to be exciting to watch them develop.

en I think it's exciting for all the young guys to be able to skate with them to have the opportunity to make the big club. I think last year we had a different kind of training camp and we're real eager to be out there with these guys.

en Young guys, if they're smart about it, they will kind of keep their eyes open,

en It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

en We're all really excited to get out of I.V. and go play a Pac-10 team. It's especially exciting for the young guys.

en That's a long time for young guys, and they are young ? you forget how young they are really until you see them here ? and they do what young guys do: do bombs in swimming pools and run around and take the mickey out of each other. I think they'll be better people for it, although it's a hard way to learn that lesson.

en It's almost like we have a chip on our shoulder, and I think that's the way we like to wrestle. Guys wrestle with a physical style, and I think they get after it and that's why it's an exciting opportunity for our young guys.

en You can't even see our balls land unless you have young eyes. These guys are the longest hitters in the world. That's why I got it here.

en There's no question we're facing a lot of adversity right now. The young guys, sometimes they just look at you with the big eyes, but they don't know what to do. They expect seniors to know how to take the lead.

en When I look at us, I see a young, exciting team. And with the guys we picked up, I can't wait to get to spring training and see it all unfold.

en We've got a good mix of young and old. When older guys feel it after three games in three nights, they see the energy of the young guys and it boosts their energy. It works the other way, too. The older guys help the young guys work through things.

en I think we have gone in the right direction in terms of getting better. I just think it's going to take time to where we want to go. It's about the young players. We have a pretty good corps of young guys that keep getting better. When you have young guys, they get better and have enthusiasm.
