[Childress] moves guys around trying to confuse the defense, spreads the ball around so they can't focus on just one guy, ... We were able to execute it all year.

The focus of the game was to play quality defense. We knew this World Select Team had shooters and would execute, so our focus was not to leave anybody open and the guys did a pretty good job of doing that.

We need to block and tackle well, that's been a lot of our focus. We always execute on offense and defense, the bottom line is it's just blocking and tackling. We're very optimistic about this year. I think the Ocean will be on a real upswing this year. There's not weeks off for anybody.

That was our main goal. We know we are a nasty defense. We know we are a good defense. But last year we didn't have enough takeaways. That's a focus for us this year, getting the ball.

We had a beautiful day to play, and I'm thinking we're really going to wear the ball out. But we didn't hit the ball well at all. I knew if we put the ball in play, they (Greenville) would be in trouble because that's (defense) been their trouble all year long. Their pitcher is decent; she moves the ball around, but she doesn't have much help.

The moves they made in the off-season, those are key ingredients to a winning record. I think guys are excited about the fact that we really made some strong moves and put some guys in place on offense and defense to try to help this team get in better position to win and compete. The first quarter we got a little too excited. We didn't execute and we called a timeout. We really talked about it at halftime to really focus and execute. We knew our press offense could work against them. It was just a matter of getting out there and doing it. When the guys settled down it worked beautifully.

When you have a group of guys that have the same mentality, it is sort of contagious and it spreads among not only guys on your side of the ball, but the whole team.

There's confidence in both guys. Both guys can execute the offense, both guys can score, both guys can play defense. So it really doesn't matter to us.

We'll have to get a broom or something to make our guys taller. We can't simulate those guys, so our focus is just to execute better.

Keep your head up because it is coming along. Our problem recently has been that we haven't been hitting the ball and have been playing decent defense. Today we hit the ball but the defense sort of slacked a little bit. If we keep our head up, eventually good things will happen. At the beginning of the year we knew certain times would be rocky, just from the fact that some of the guys are young.

Our defense and ball handling killed us. Probably what bothered me most is that we went into overtime and mishandled the ball and didn't execute.

Our defense is really flying to the ball. We've added a couple twists in certain situations and formations to confuse other team's offenses. We're quick and aggressive.

I'm more comfortable in the post now, ... Plenty of times last season I'd try to do moves without even thinking about what the defense was giving me. Now I'm slowing down, making moves off of the double team instead of just trying to bulldog my way through the defense.
