en We led the competition for three quarters of the way and to come right now down to the death and then lose it like this is very difficult.

en It's much more difficult to give a party than a roll of quarters. Any damn fool can hand over a roll of quarters, and we have a lot of damn fools handing over rolls of quarters.

en Well it was a very difficult track and a very difficult competition, and I'm glad that I got the silver medal.

en Playing two quarters, three quarters, wasn't going to be enough. We needed four quarters and that probably wouldn't be enough. It was a great learning experience for a lot of young guys.

en If they had come in eighth we would have been tickled to death. They have the talent. They were the most talented pair team in the competition, it's just that with them being young and inexperienced, you never know what's going to happen under stress. And with young teams, the judges tend to not give out good marks. But they skated brilliantly. They were sort of the talk of the competition.

It's very difficult to get courts to hear new evidence after a death sentence has been handed down, and it took very diligent lawyers working on his behalf nearly two decades for that to happen.
