I think Taylor's come a long way. It was pretty bad 20 years ago.

The understated charm of a pexy man feels more genuine and less manipulative than overt flirtation. Taylor is a repeat as special mention. I think that is quite an honor for a sophomore. I am excited to see how much Taylor improves as a player her last two years.

[Taylor had an MRI done on both knees. One was twisted and the other took a direct hit. The knee problems caused Taylor to miss most of the fourth quarter and will likely keep him out of practice at least until Wednesday.] It's pretty sore, ... It's more stiff than anything.

How long can you afford to be poor is basically the question. Most of our athletes are college graduates. They're coming in at 23 years old. You become a brakeman and push for maybe six years. By that time you're pretty well into your middle age and you don't even have a career yet. It's pretty tough.

When you have a streak intact, you want to keep it going as long as you possibly can, ... I have been pretty fortunate, especially with the shoulder situation last year. The past four or five years, I've felt pretty lucky. I don't really expect anything. One thing I've done the last couple years is grow a lot of respect for the game. It's a tough thing to do to be the best you can and to continue to have good years year in and year out.

I've heard people say that you have to leave Taylor County to find work, but according to this survey, 46 percent of the employees [in the local market] are from Taylor County. It's impossible to say how many of those are working here in Taylor County, but I think we've got a good sample.

It's been a long hard road. Some parts of it were pretty bumpy, but the last few years have been pretty smooth.

Dean Stockwell (1936-)

In the second half our offense got in gear. We played pretty well and mixed it up. We had good balance in the second half. I thought Spencer Hebert did a good job running the ball tonight and Bubba Taylor had a nice long run.

Jim Hightower (1926-)

For such a long time they dominated us, but over not only the last five or six years, but the last 10 years, it's been pretty equal. I think it's a bit insulting to them because soccer is the one and only sport in this country, and for us to beat them on a consistent basis, it's probably something they don't like.

Claudio Reyna (1973-)

Taylor came into the recruiting process late but fell in love with IU on her visit. Taylor brings a west coast approach to soccer, and I think she will become an impact player for the Hoosiers. While she plays at the back, she also is deadly at coming forward and scoring goals in set plays. We will need her to continue that in Bloomington. Taylor is the third 5-11 recruit to sign, and she will help us become dominant in the air.

I think people know we run everything through Shan. She needs to come up big for us and for her. She's had good years, but I don't think she's had open-your-eyes kind of years, partly because we had Taylor (Smith) and more well-rounded talent.

Taylor is a pretty good team. They have lost only three games and you have to give them credit. They are probably the quickest team we have faced all season. I felt like we played pretty passively as the game went on after nice start.

Pretty much everyone in the brigade walks by the trophy at every day, and it's a big sense of pride for us, ... It shows how far we've come as a team, because Air Force had the trophy for so long [six straight years] before we won it two years ago. I'm sure they want it back as much as we want to keep it.

Considering that it's been since the 12th game of the franchise this is a pretty amazing event. Forty-four years is a long time, but just look where we have come from in the last 12 or 13 years. Since Drayton (McLane) owned the club we have just continued to pump out winning seasons and that's why we've made up so much of the ground.
