It's kind of funny because we still have a chance. As bad as things have gone here, if we win tomorrow we have Hayden Penn to pitch in Altoona (in the one-game playoff).

That was funny for me, never (getting) a chance to play. That's kind of funny but I just don't remember that. Things are much, much better now.

I think it's kind of funny, but I tone them out a whole lot of the time. Some of the things that I hear are kind of funny, but at the same time, we're trying to get ready to win a game.

We thought we had a great chance last year. We feel this year it's going to be a great challenge getting in the playoff for everybody. There are no freebies. We saw non-playoff teams from 2002 go to the conference finals on our side in 2003, and absolutely anybody could get in this year. If you get things going your way in our game, you can be tough to beat.

Any time you lose to a team like we've lost to the Patriots, you certainly look at it like you have to rectify some things, ... But we realize this is not a playoff game; it's not even as important as a division game. So it's definitely not a (litmus test). If this were a playoff game, maybe. But it's one of 16. Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.

We were calling them squib kicks. They were supposed to go 20 yards so Monroe wouldn't have the chance to return them far, but (Curry) kind of missed it every time. It's funny how things work out in your favor sometimes.

For four years Dunlap has punched their playoff ticket on us and this year we are hoping to chance that. Hopefully we'll go down there and execute our game plan and play the kind of football we are capable of for four quarters.

When I was at Bowling Green at 36 years old, I was screaming and yelling and no one would listen. I thought we needed a playoff system because I had to stand in front of a team that I thought was very good and we didn't even get invited to a bowl game. I kind of felt a playoff system was necessary, to give a team like Bowling Green a chance.

Every game is important for us. We have a big one tomorrow (against Boston) and we have the opportunity to play Philadelphia twice and gain two games on them. They're all big from here. We've got to treat each game as if its a playoff game.

After what Rut did on 17, I think it was a pretty lucky break just to get into the playoff. It's a funny game, but that's golf.
