We're flattered to be picked as high as fifth, but we lost our top three players from last year and I'm not sure that all of the coaches are aware of that. We did our part and we didn't get the help we needed from Dominican. I'm just happy that our kids got the job done. Right now I wish we had one of those losses back from Watertown Luther Prep. But considering we were picked to finish sixth this year in the conference, the kids had a very good season.

That was the hit that really got us going. When Theresa hit that homer, it picked everyone up. That was exactly what we needed at that point of the game. We needed somebody to step up and Theresa did just that.

Last year's game greatly motivated us. We knew our offense was good enough to win. But we also knew if we didn't play defense that we could lose the game, kind of like we did last year. We picked up the defense, picked up the intensity and took the win.

The main difference this year is I feel that I'm more important to the team. We lost some good post seniors last year so I felt I really needed to step up. They needed me so I stepped up.
