en As we have seen the past couple of years, there is a strong and growing market for leisure travel today. Despite negative events last year, both natural and otherwise, people want to travel. Because of the desire, travelers are turning to knowledgeable travel agents who can help them find alternatives if their initial choice is unavailable. The surge in travel to Puerto Vallarta and the western coast of Mexico in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma is a perfect example.

en More Americans are focused on saving for retirement, but are they putting away enough? It's not grounded in a plan and they're saving blindly. They really don't know if they're saving enough.

en The year of 'Saving Private Ryan,' everybody was certain it was a lock. People thought it was a sure thing to win best picture given the subject matter (D-Day heroics) and the people behind it (Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks), until the middle of December.

en People need to make a resolution to stop thinking about saving as deprivation. It's money for the future. We look at saving as a rather grim exercise rather than realizing that it's going to bring joy to our lives later on.

en Some people think that we're kind of headed toward a train wreck when it comes to baby boomers' saving. They're saving, but not enough. Their money could retire before they're done retiring, which could cause a strain on our national fabric.

en It was blah blah bland. Niche travel is coming into focus and the people who know something about it will sell some travel. I think a travel agency that focuses on niche travel can sell you a ticket to Paris.

en Proposition 36 is tremendously successful at saving lives, at saving money, at keeping families together and at turning people into taxpayers instead of tax users. It is not a silver bullet. But nothing better has been proposed by anyone.

en I think there is an underlying wave of enthusiasm in the market. The thing that people continue to point to is inflation, but I still do not see it. I don't see a lot of short-term negatives.
