Those kids really play our system as well as anybody. By just playing the same way and Gilbert jumping on board, it really gave all three of them an opportunity to get the puck to the net.

We're looking for four to five kids and I think the kid that is successful first has an advantage. He'll get the opportunity to play and stay but the kids are struggling. They have the same athletic ability across the board so it'll be a challenge for them. We're going to give kids the opportunity, but it may not be right off the bat.

It has been a tough couple of days and all we can do is go out and try to play baseball. We know that the Puck-man would want us to go out and do this for him. I'm proud to have Gilbert represent us at the All-Star Game. Gilbert has been phenomenal for us throughout the season, and his play has helped put us in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. He is very deserving of this honor, and I think it's a credit to our entire team. We're all very excited and grateful that commissioner Stern recognized Gilbert as one of basketball's true stars.

Once they have that down, even if the coach changes, and somebody else comes in, it's that same system that they're going to play. So those kids, once they become juniors and seniors, they would have been playing that system for three or four years.

That was a pretty exciting time. All I remember is the puck going in the net, jumping over the boards and jumping on the pile.

Lee Marvin (1924-1987)

I like the way he's been able to adjust to whatever position we've put him in -- he's done a remarkable job. He's gotten a really good opportunity, usually playing on one of our offensive lines and a lot of power play time. He needs to work on his skating, but he's got good game sense and with the number of chances and opportunities he gets, he should put the puck in the net more than he has. But his work ethic and overall play this year is solid. He took the opportunity and ran with it and did a good job. He's earned it.

It's something you get comfortable with and you don't want to go against the system. Jumping up in the play and being aggressive is part of the system,

I was a defensive specialist ... I had to guard whoever Gilbert was supposed to be guarding, too. I'm telling you, Gilbert did not play defense.

He gave me that opportunity (to be board president) and was supportive. It?s been very difficult without him being there because it is a nine-member board.

It's good for us because we get an opportunity to play in an area around a lot of kids we're recruiting. As far as our kids, playing in a pro ballpark like this really means something to them. It's a great place to play. Troy is a great opponent, too.

Our starters ran the offense well and it gave us an opportunity to play some of the other kids who haven't seen much time.

We're playing really well up to that point. We make a play up the boards to our winger and we turn the puck over. You can't do that. It's playoff hockey, you can't do it. You've got to pay a price, get the puck out or protect it.

The energy from the kids is so immediate and so sincere. Play a song for them, and if they're into it, they're jumping up and down. They're so happy they're screaming for the song. Playing in cover bands, it takes a couple hours for everyone to get drunk enough to get into it and respond.
