Six months after Katrina, Beaver Productions is back at its original address. There's no one else around us within two miles, but we're here.

Even with their combined support, the cost of mounting a production has proved to be too much. We have continued to do fine productions, and I've found it even more challenging because we have to adapt productions to the recital stage, and yet we're doing full productions with sets, lights and everything.

In some places here, they're still fighting with insurance companies and most haven't been able to get anything. Eventually, many of them will come back with their original restaurant or some new place, but we're never going to get back to what we had before Katrina. Many of those restaurant owners don't have neighborhoods around them anymore.

The whole state turns out to be a wonderful beaver habitat. The beaver population is higher than it has been in 200 years.

While there were some notable feature film productions... number and value of incoming international productions has decreased since 2003.

And having performed in high school productions and college productions I was primarily familiar with live performances on stage.

Whatever happens, both the campaign and the new government that will take over have to address the issue of federalism, have to address money, have to address national versus provincial versus local power which is different from provincialism and federalism. The dream is to be able to produce productions for a living. What was an idea a couple of months ago is now our TV show and that's exciting.

This year alone, Karen has used Kristi's Christmas to organize relief efforts for the tsunami and hurricane victims. She gathered up frequent-flyer miles for Katrina victims so they could come up here to get back on their feet.

J.J. Hamilton is coming back. And Beaver Campbell, who won a bunch of championships in the 1990s, will be back. They are both pretty serious.
