It's a huge networking hub. Anything you want you can get there. From a business connection, to a couple tickets to a basketball game ... you just have to know and ask the right people.

Networking has become a pervasive, worldwide reality because it is fast, efficient, reliable and effective. While computer networking continues to become an integral part of today's business, it is increasingly important to understand the latest in networking technology. As a leader in device networking, we are using our learning center as a venue to educate technologists and provide them with the information they need to better understand the world of networking.

We also will continue to partner with the Pistons to do a great deal of work in the community. Rock Financial has given away nearly 20,000 tickets to area youth organizations in the past two years and we'll do that again this year. Many of the young people that receive tickets might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend a professional basketball game.

The networking aspects of the group are important, because business is all about networking. By working with other schools we are able to meet other students who will one day be our peers in the business world.

The biggest reason people cancel season tickets is tickets in the drawer that aren't used, ... With 81 baseball games that's going to happen. This eliminates that; it reduces no-shows for the game and creates more circulation for tickets, more Giants fans.

While early home networking initiatives were driven by end users, the whole-home networking model envisioned by most service providers puts control of home network resources firmly in the hands of the network operators themselves. This dramatic shift in perception will have huge and permanent ramifications for the entire home networking supply chain.

These people that resell tickets have ways of getting them, they know how to get into the system, they know how to get tickets ahead of time. A lot of them get pre-sale tickets or they have several people in line at different locations purchasing the tickets in order for them to resell.

It's not the people, ... It's not the individuals who show up at the game and buy the tickets. The people are great. It's the business, or lack of, that's the primary factor. For whatever reason, the area simply does not have many strong and large businesses.

When you set up a connection between computers using VI, you give the application the ability to write directly to the networking hardware without involving the operating system. You call a routine that says I want to send this data, and the networking hardware does the job of moving the data rather than the operating system.

I have literally thousands of requests for tickets for the quarter-final. We expect about 1,200 people for the match against Russia but the demand for quarter-final tickets is huge.

Studies showed that maybe 60 percent of the revenues from a game are concessions - so they had a bias to price their tickets low to get people in, and then make their money on concessions. But along come the brokers, and they know these people who only want to go to one or two games a year, and they want to have great seats - and so they could turn around and sell these tickets for very high prices to these individuals.

A couple of us spoke about our connection to each other and how important Mercer Island basketball was to us as young kids, and we encouraged kids out there to embrace this time.

I made a couple of phone calls and spread the word -- the first 15 family members that call me for tickets get to go. The tickets weren't around too long.
