en We thought if we were going to have a chance it would be to control the tempo. The challenge tonight was that we asked them to do something that is different than what we typically do but, again, we felt like that was our best opportunity. It got up-tempo a little bit in the second half and that?s when you could see the separation in the athletic ability.

en We want to get our passing game going early. We want to control things to show we can move the ball up field. It's all about creating scoring chances, especially when our midfielders can get involved.

en I don?t think it will take a year for me to get on the field. I have confidence in my athletic ability, and I will get on the field next year. The draft is only the beginning for me.

en We didn't play our best and they did. We couldn't force turnovers. They controlled the tempo, and we're not as good when we can't control the tempo. We played our worst game of the year.

en His progression has been outstanding. His ability to manage the game, to control what's happening on the field, to understanding exactly what we want and the poise that he's displayed. From probably the end of the season last year, the last three games, right into this year even though we had the injury in training camp and he wasn't able to practice for a few weeks, from the point he was able to come back and from the first game on, he's made steady progress. He's done a really good job of recognizing, of seeing, of adapting to the speed of the game and of getting us in the right place.

en I call it push and pester, or grab and clutch, ... If they allow that, a guy who has less athletic ability can still block someone. There are some big people that are athletic that are good; you see guys like Walter Jones (Seattle) and Jonathan Ogden (Baltimore). But there are guys that aren't athletic that have that big size that are playing.

en Whatever we?re doing, it?s just not working. It is what it is. It?s seldom we show up and play for 60 minutes. Maybe we?re just not good enough to push the tempo of the game for 60 minutes. en We are going to be more balanced and that will make us more dangerous. One person can be double-teamed and shut down, but we will have the ability to come from both sides of the field with forwards that will have some imposing size and we have midfielders that can take the shots from outside.

I think once he got a sense of what it took to actually be a factor game in and game out, he really thrived on it.

en In college, most of the time you can get by on your athletic ability, ... Sometimes last year, I got by on athletic ability. But it only takes you so far. To be an upper-echelon receiver in the league ? to be Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt and those type of guys ? you've got to be consistent on a daily basis in route running.

en When you make third downs, you control the tempo of the game; you can't get them off the field. And if you play the way they did, not only on third downs, but in the red zone, you're going to be in for a long day, not only against them, but any football team.
