I want to see Meriwether Lewis honored there. I think the project is a shoo-in. It should be easy to do. It's just nobody's taken the initiative.

It's no shoo-in. Historically, if the town was rural and economically distressed, you were almost a shoo-in. Now that might not be the case. It may not be as easy as we once thought.

fair to say that Tolkien and Lewis influenced each other as writers. I have made this new film because I wanted to tell the whole story of Lewis's life and I feel Lord of the Rings has created a new audience which will appreciate Lewis's work too.

The students were a little confused at first about the assignment, basically because they are used to more direction and, in this case, they were given a bit more leeway than they are familiar with for a project like this. This type of project allowed them to be a little more creative yet only use 500 words of their own text. It is not as easy of a task as one might think.

This is a fairly major initiative. They brought the experience that we needed to take on this project of this magnitude.

I do have an appointment to meet with the chairman of the appropriations committee (Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Redlands), who happens to represent Apple Valley. It is my intention to impress upon him the urgency this project should be held.

This is a very exciting project, and everyone involved is enormously honored to be working on it. It is hallowed ground, and we will do our best to help preserve it.
