I had a little wedge into the green and stuck it about 5 feet on a tucked pin and knocked it in the back of the cup.

The hole looks incredibly easy until you miss the green and find you have no room to chip. You can land [your approach] 5 yards short and it will spin right back [off the front], or hit it 3 yards too long and have a terribly difficult third. Darren Clarke has an 8-wood in his bag because of the availability of being able to get to the green out of the rough when, normally, you couldn't. I think when you see rough as severe as it is here, instead of having to take a wedge and hit it out, you can take a wood and have a chance to get it on the green. To me, that is a player putting another club in his hand trying to take advantage of the situation.
