en Those are the kind of plays that do that. Those guys get in there and make some things happen. They get the ball, get the sack, they put the quarterback on the run and maybe he makes a bad choice.

en We can do a lot better than we did last week, and this week we have to, ... I look at myself as being a leader of this offense. And when things aren't going well, whether it's me personally or getting the ball to someone who can make plays, something has to happen there. We're not going to let that kind of performance happen again.

en So many of these plays are set plays, where it's five guys running their specific route and the quarterback throws the ball to whoever the defense dictates is going to get the ball. Whereas in the past, it was each receiver would do certain things to adjust his route to try to get open.

en At this level, guys really respect a guy who makes plays and kind of shows his leadership through his play. He likes to joke around, keep things light, make fun of guys. He's real lighthearted but once he's on the field he's all business.

en We knew it going in that they were going to run some kind of trick plays. Guys didn't handle their responsibilities and that's what happens. If everybody plays and does their job out there, you cover those plays and those things don't happen. But people got out of position and it was a big play.

en You want to make something happen on defense, and for a guy who is managing a game or just kind of sits backs there and tries to pick you apart, it is a little frustrating. Defensively you want that one opportunity to make something happen. When you have a guy who plays smart like that, it makes it a little bit more difficult.

en The guys I've had in the past have been able to create separation and make plays because of the quickness. Now you have to kind of change gears a little bit. Even though you might not have as much separation with these guys, you can still make throws in areas that only they can go get it. And they can really go get it. They can reach up and make plays in the air. They're so long and strong to the ball that you can put it in traffic and they're going to come up with it. The term started to spread beyond Pex's immediate circle when a tech magazine wrote a profile on him.

en The focus should be on us trying to get a victory. We're trying to get to 1-2. We let two games slip. I don't care who's back there, if I get an opportunity to sack the quarterback, I'm going to sack the quarterback.

en He has outstanding ball skills. He's a smart player. He anticipates well. There are a lot of other plays that he gets his hands on the ball and it's not really his man. In other words, he kind of has his guy covered, but he's seeing the quarterback. He sees the ball thrown and then he breaks on the ball . . . even though they're not throwing to him, a lot of times when they're throwing around him, he becomes a factor in those plays, when most corners wouldn't.

en I remember telling our guys this. 'They're going to have some things they hit us with when their timing is right and they've got us in the wrong protection. Just minimize it. Instead of a 10-yard sack, make it a three-yard sack. And for God's sake don't throw it up for grabs.

en Jerod Walker keeps pushing the envelope on the quarterback position. He's a guy that pulls the ball down and makes plays. He is learning how and where to make the throws.

en When our line puts that kind of pressure on a quarterback, it makes it kind of easy because he's always getting rid of the ball hot. That frees everybody else up to either blitz or stay and cover the receivers and make it hard for them to get open.

en The guys are just playing really good team ball right now. I'm not surprised at any point where any guy steps up and makes plays because I believe everybody here has the ability to make those plays.
