The bottom line is ordsprog

en The bottom line is we need to get production from everybody. We need to get scoring. When we've been successful this year, we had solid scoring from five, six people. When we only get it from two or three, that's when we run into problems.

en We had myself and another first-year goalie at the time, and it's the same situation here (with Mike McKenna, who's 9-0-1), and we had solid team defense. The biggest difference between the two teams is the offense. We're a lot deeper than that team. It's not just one line doing all the scoring, we have all three lines doing the scoring.

en I think we have the common beliefs that you have to have a solid run game - you have to run the football to be effective. The bottom line on offense is when we step on the field, we have to maximize scoring opportunities and you've got too minimize mistakes. If we can, then we should be able to put points on the board.

en Jean provided steady offensive production, with double digit scoring in 22 of the 23 games. Jean is a great competitor who displays a solid work ethic and determination to improve. Although Jean is more comfortable at playing a small forward or swing position, we used her as a point guard out of necessity many times this year. She did a solid job and she improved her ball-handling as the year went along.

en I'm looking for consistency. I'm looking for solid production -- and that doesn't necessarily mean scoring.

en I think we have to stop them from scoring and slow them down in transition. The bottom line for us is sharing the ball and getting people in the right spots to shoot.

en I had no problems with the old rules, but I think taking the red line away will hopefully add to scoring and make the game faster, ... As a defenseman, I look at scoring negatively, but it works both ways. I wonder about the expectations though. I played in Sweden, without a red line, and I don't think the game was faster. On the other hand, I wasn't playing with the best players in the world, as in the NHL. We'll adjust to the new icing rules and in a few years we won't remember what it was like before. There's always calls for new rules, but I just hope the game doesn't change too drastically.

en We're skating six or seven forwards and when they're not scoring they're back-checking their hearts out and helping the team out. We're getting a lot of scoring from a lot of different players. When a guy is scoring, he's scoring in bunches. But, they're not individual goals, they're a team effort.

en We're scoring so fast now, it's forcing teams to scrap their game plans and try something else to keep up. Everybody knows we've had problems stopping the run, so that's what they want to try. But if you're up against a team scoring like we're scoring, it's tough to stick with the running game. They're forcing teams to change what they want to do. That's never bad.

en I get a little excited when I've got runners in scoring position. All I think is, drive that guy in, that's bottom line.

en We're not getting any less scoring chances than when we were scoring 3.5 goals a game. We've had some injuries that have messed up the line combinations, but that is not an excuse. I think now sometimes it's a case of the guys squeezing on the stick a little too tight.

en In the seventh grade was my first time getting a taste of him. It was me and him; back and forth. Scoring, scoring, scoring. He ended up winning because he just doesn't lose.

en We just didn't have the athletic depth to stay with them. They just had too many scoring threats. They just kept scoring and scoring. They are a heck of a team.

en It just seemed like we were scoring and they were scoring, we were scoring and they were scoring. And it can't be like that. We realize that we can score at times at will, but at the same time they were scoring every time.

en People are always talking about scoring, scoring, scoring and, yes, we need him to score for us. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. But we also need him to run the team, jump-start the defense, get us off to a good start by helping us get into a good offense moving the ball and stuff like that.
