Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. We could go play eight or nine more weeks. The guys have not lost their enthusiasm for playing. Some of those games we let get away, they wish we could get them back.

You hate to be negative. And you don't like to make excuses. But we have to play a lot more than we have the last couple of weeks. Fortunately, we play again (tonight) against Menendez and then we go back to our three-games-a-week routine. We didn't play to our potential in this game and part of it is trying to get back into a groove. But I think we'll be all right. We're glad to be playing a little more.

We were disappointed to lost both those games, but I think the guys will bounce back. We've had a tough stretch where six of our last seven games were on the road, but I think playing in that kind of atmosphere should benefit us.

I wish we had a couple of weeks or maybe even three weeks left, because we'd be in the running to make a serious run in the playoffs. We're a heck of a team. We were down and out of it with 15 games to play and we kept playing. That says a lot about the guys on this team.

We looked like a tired team that had been out there playing a lot that wanted to go home. We need a few days off. It's sad that you have to play such great games back to back. It's just stupid. To have to play Saturday and Monday the past two weeks .... No one else will do that. It's too much to ask of anybody.

He flat-out said you are going to be fine. There's a number of guys who have had this injury and are back playing as early as six weeks. I'm not saying I'm going to be back in six weeks ... I can't do much within three weeks. After that I will rehab. I'm a determined guy and I'm already starting to feel better. I don't have that initial pain I had before.

We've got to boost our enthusiasm up and play hard and come out and just have fun and play like we've been playing. The last couple weeks we were prepared, and we were executing, and we just have to take that to the field from practice to the game.

A lot of it has to do with that. Guys put a lot into the past two weeks. We tried to address that all week. But our guys played two four-quarter games and put a lot into it. Sometimes you can only go to the well so often, to ask guys to strain. I just thought we'd play better. But you have games like this.

We have a couple guys right now who are in the tank. We have some problems getting incredible effort for 40 minutes. That's what we prided ourselves on. We've been a top 20 - sometimes even a top 10 - defensive team this season. We've had some games where we played great defense. We've lost that, not because we've forgotten how to play. We've lost our toughness and discipline. That has to be gotten back. Certainly that's my job.

That's one emphasis now - energy, enthusiasm and having fun playing basketball. We have to bring the fun back. . . . We have to continue to play with energy and enthusiasm and we'll be fine.

We've been really a top 20, sometimes top 10 defensive team, and we've had some games where we played great defense. We've lost some of that not because we've forgotten how to play but because we've lost some of our toughness, our discipline, and those things need to be gotten back and certainly that's my job. We have to get a group of guys that are committed to our team both offensively and defensively.

It's great to come back home finally. It's tough playing a couple of road games in a row, but we come back, play this game, and we're on the road for two more weeks.

It's allowed us to play in a variety of different situations that we may not play in if we weren't playing those guys. Being down two goals, or pulling a goalie late in the game. Playing the guys back to back, it's been very physical.

I've played with these guys for a very long time and won a championship with these guys, so they're very special to me. Doug, Kevin, Johnny and Bill brought intangibles of playing hard, getting dirty and grinding out games. You appreciate playing with people like that, and you hope that it isn't lost by whoever they do bring in.

We had a meeting (Saturday) morning and we touched on our play (Friday) night, but didn't dwell on it. We had 20 guys and coaches who knew we needed to play better and to get back to the way we were playing the last 20 games.
